PADI Master Scuba Diver Certification

Course Outline and Benefits

As you can see, there is a natural progression after the PADI Open Water Diver course - now you have got that under your belt, you can go on to be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, complete EFR and the PADI Rescue Diver course, be certified for five specialties and then, after logging at least 50 dives, you will be able to get to the very pinnacle of recreational scuba diving  -  the PADI Master Scuba Diver.

Many dive professionals view the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification as the 'black belt' of scuba. It is a programme that will enhance your scuba skills and knowledge and is the highest level a PADI recreational diver can reach, denoting superior achievement and proficiency.

Course Itinerary

The PADI Master Scuba Diver programme, as you are already aware, requires several courses and a number of dives.  Consequently, the programme can take anything from several weeks to several years to complete. The pace of completion will be decided by you.  The main thing to keep in mind when choosing what specialty programmes to take is to enjoy the adventure and, before you know it, you will have achieved the prestigious 'black belt' of scuba  -  the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification card.

To get your creative juices flowing, here are a list of some of the specialties you can select:

  • Altitude Diver
  • AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Diver
  • AWARE Fish Identification Diver
  • Boat Diver
  • Cavern Diver
  • Deep Diver
  • Diver Propulsion Vehicle Diver

The biggest problem divers find is choosing the five specialty courses, as there are so many courses to enjoy.  In choosing which specialty course you want to do, PADI recommends researching the geographical area you plan to dive.  For example, in the United Kingdom and Europe, the Dry Suit Specialty would be very beneficial due to the cooler waters.  If you were diving in the Red Sea, you would obviously want to increase your bottom time, so the Enriched Air Specialty would be the obvious choice.

To help you with your choice, come into the centre and have a chat with our PADI Instructor who can better guide you in your selection.  Many divers choose to complete specialty programmes while on a dive trip.  Each geographical area will offer up unique experiences and marine life.
