Dry Suit Diver Course Outline and Benefits
Spring approaches and divers venture into attics and garages to inspect dive equipment that's been hibernating since winter crept in last year. It's time to consider not only servicing that equipment before taking the plunge again, but also whether there may be a PADI course to refresh and enhance your diving skills for the coming year.
With this in mind, although the 7mm wetsuit or semi-dry may be an old favourite that serves you well for six of the twelve months, is it also the reason you pack away your equipment as the water temperature drops each year? If so, perhaps it's time to think about the PADI Dry Suit Diver specialty course.
The timing couldn't be better. You'll benefit not only from a refresher, but you will also learn how to use a piece of equipment that will enable you to dive right through the last day of this year and on into the early part of the next! Surely the prospect of being dry, warm and able to dive all year round make drysuits an enticing proposition?
There are many different types of drysuits on the market. With this state of the art piece of warm, dry gear comes the necessity to learn to use it safely.
The PADI Dry Suit Diver specialty course introduces you to the drysuit and its advantages and disadvantages, and you'll learn the skills and knowledge necessary to plan, organize and safely conduct dives using a drysuit. You'll also be familiarised with general drysuit maintenance and care.
Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded the PADI Dry Suit Diver specialty certification.
You may also apply for the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating if you are a PADI Rescue Diver or have a qualifying certification from another organisation with certification in four other PADI Specialty ratings.
